Plant Cell | Animal Cell
Plant cells have a rigid outermost covering called cell wall. | Animal Cells do not have a cell wall.
In plant cells , nucleus is located near the periphery. | In animal cells , nucleus is located in the centre. In plant cells , lysosomes are rarely found . Lysosomes are are spherical vesicles containing hydrolytic enzymes capable of breaking down virtually all kinds of biomolecules, including proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids, and cellular debris. | Animal cells always have lysosomes .Plant cells have a large central vacuole . Vacuoles are storage compartments of the cells . | Animal cells have numerous smaller vacuoles.Plant cells do not burst due to endosmosis because of the presence of the cell wall | Animal cells can rupture when placed in hypotonic solution . Plastids are present in the plant cells . Plastids are the site of manufacture and storage of important chemical compounds used by the cell | They are usually absent in animal cells.
